Foundation Yak

Trisha is a very impressive, woolly girl. Shy but loving. She is a very good Mom with her first calf this year (2018). She will be mated with Oscar this Fall.

Oreo is the first heifer calf to be born at Kiwidinok. She knows the rub down routine and the treat bag. She is a James Bond and Chewbacca great grand daughter She is a Chanchari daughter and has developed all of her Mom's good qualities. She has calved for the first time in the Spring of 2018 and triggered into motherhood automatically. She is a doting, caring, demonstrative Mom - the mother of Horatio - a big strutting bull calf. Oreo is very woolly. She will be mated with our Royal Bull Oscar in the Fall of 2018. We can't wait to see what she produces.

Chanchari is everything one could ask for in a Yak Mom. She is spirited but totally accepting of the love that we give her. She comes enthusiastically to receive her rub downs and treats. She started as the bottom cow in the pecking order in the original small herd but has worked her way up to the lead cow in a herd of fifteen cows and heifers. Her first calf in the Spring of 2015 is Oreo - a very woolly Royal Heifer. Kimimela is her second heifer calf - also a beautiful Royal. Spring of 2018 she has had her fourth calf - a beautiful Native Black heifer. Chanchari is very woolly with streaks of Golden. She is a grand daughter of THY James Bond and SBR Chewbacca. She is a great grand daughter of Queen Allante and Billy the Kid

Frankie has given birth to her first calf in 2018. She has become a wonderful Mom. Frankie won a Blue ribbon at the Denver Show in 2015 as a yearling heifer. Her award was for fibre. She is easily handled, loves treats and back rubs. Frankie will be mated with Oscar (our Royal Bull) this Fall.

Ming Ming is a beautiful Royal heifer calf, born in a Northern Michigan winter snow storm at approximately 3 AM on December 12 2018. She and her great Mom, Paka, are true examples of Yak resilience, hardiness and Yak motherhood. Ming Ming is the first offspring of our Royal Bull "Oscar" and he has produced a truly wonderful representative of this hardy breed. Come visit with her and say Hi.

KIWI Tammy is an absolutely beautiful, black, woolly heifer. She is friendly and inquisitive with a soft personality - just like her Mom Trisha. Her bloodlines go back to the greats - Chewbacca, Billy the Kid, James Bond, Dreadlock. She is a blessing and a promise.

Felicity is a magnificent heifer calf - very wooly with a tinge of gold. Her Mom Frankie was awarded a ribbon at the Denver show for the quality of her coat. Felicity has inherited all of the quality. She was weaned in December 2021. - very friendly - loves attention and a good head scratch. Just a beautiful example of a Yak heifer.

Opal is a very woolly Royal heifer calf who has all of her Mom,s personality qualities. She takes every opportunity to come to the fence or run up to me in the pasture to get more than her share of treats. And she loves a good scratch behind the ears. We have great expectations for this heifer.

Raven is a very friendly bottle fed baby girl. She is well sociallized with dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, goats, sheep and weanling yaks of her age group. Loves treats and human social interaction. She was weaned in December 2022 and every day she tries to forget that she is weaned.....always hopeful there may be another bottle around the corner.
